Foundation: Tapered monopile

The wind farm, which is located in the Yellow sea, features 72 wind turbines each with a capacity of 6.45MW. The foundations of the piles vary between monopiles and hinge rise pile cap.

DDC drilled several monopiles. The Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) was designed with extendable arms. The monopile has a tapered form. The BHA was at it smallest diameter 4065mm to enter the monopile at the top. When starting drilling at the seabed the drilling diameter was 6700mm at widest monopile. DDC sold the PBA 1450 to Boqiang.
